A Brilliant Haiku for National Poetry Month

photo-4 2

There are many poetry bloggers out in cyberspace capable of making you weep with their beautiful sensory images.

I’m not one of them.

However, I couldn’t let National Poetry Month start without posting this haiku dedicated to my Bichon/Poodle mix, Oliver Cromwell.

Go and bark no more                                                                                                        ye of little dog brain                                                                                                             and please pee outside.

Maybe I need to switch my focus to poetry.

  1. Haiku appreciation aside (and thanks for the chuckle), no Bichon is of little brain! (Love that noble moniker, too.) Poodles are the smartest dogs ever and yours is unbelievably cute. 🙂

    • I know, it doesn’t make sense. Maybe he just has a lot of irrational fears, like walking on the whole left side of the driveway. The Pet Psychic I passed in Marina del Ray might be able to explain why I have to drag him stiff-legged past the recycling bin on the curb, and his fear of orange traffic cones. If you want a dog to cuddle with when you are reading, Oliver Cromwell is the man. If you fall in a well, you better have a rope.
